All Good Things Must Come To An End

I'm sad to say that it's our last morning in Belize.  A few of us woke up early to watch the sun rise, but it was too cloudy to see anything.  We found out last Monday that Thursday, May 1st, is labor day in Belize.  We were very excited to find out that this meant a bonus beach day for us!  It was perfect to have a day to relax right before the chaos of our last day at high school and packing up to leave.
It was sad leaving the high school yesterday.  The teachers all welcomed us and we had a lot of fun spending time with them during our break periods.  They gave us tips for great restaurants, brought us random Belizean foods and fruits, and taught us so much about Belizean culture.  The students made me laugh constantly and I will miss their crazy comments and stories.  I've never been laughed at so much for the way I speak, but I think it's a good thing to know what it feels like to be the outsider.  Our last group dinner was last night at a Mayan Buffet.  It was absolutely delicious!  A perfect way to close out the trip!
